Frequently asked questions
How long does a lehenga take from booking to delivery?+
Everyday and festive lehengas take 3–4 weeks. Party and reception pieces need 4–6 weeks. Full bridal couture is 6–8 weeks with three fittings built in. For weddings we recommend booking 3 months ahead so we have buffer for last-minute tweaks.
Do I need to bring my own fabric?+
You can, and many clients do. We also source pure silks, velvets, net, organza and hand-loom fabrics directly from mills in Banaras and Surat. During your consultation we'll show swatches and pricing side by side so you can decide.
How many fittings will I have?+
Bridal lehengas include three fittings — muslin toile, mid-stitch, and final. Party wear typically has two fittings. Everyday pieces are stitched from measurements with one final trial. All fittings happen in our Delhi atelier.
What is the payment structure?+
A 50% advance confirms your slot and locks in fabric and embroidery. The balance is due at the final fitting before delivery. We accept UPI, bank transfer, and all major cards.
Can you replicate a lehenga I've seen elsewhere?+
Yes — bring a reference photo and we'll interpret it in your fabric, colour and measurements. We do not use branded designer labels; every piece is an original Alves make inspired by your reference.
Do you ship outside Delhi?+
Yes. We ship pan-India through insured courier once the final fitting is signed off (fittings can be done on a Delhi visit or via video for out-of-city clients using measurements sent to us). International shipping is quoted case by case.
What if the fit isn't right on delivery?+
Every Alves lehenga carries a perfect-fit guarantee. Any alterations needed within 15 days of delivery are done free of charge at our atelier.
Can I see the work in progress?+
Absolutely. Clients are welcome to visit the atelier mid-stitch, and for out-of-city brides we share photo and video updates at each milestone — fabric cut, embroidery frame, and pre-final stitch.
